No better than theft!

On August 22, I tried to book accommodation for two rooms for three nights at Disneyland Paris Sequoia Lodge. Unfortunately, the booking did not go through, so I tried again and this time it worked - but ten minutes later the rooms were now around $400 more.

I was told that this can happen because prices fluctuate quickly. So, OK the booking was made and I was going to Paris! But then, my credit card bill came through and I was charged for BOTH transactions. The first charge was for $4135.46 Australian Dollars (2417.20 euros and AUD $120.45 in conversion fees).

The second booking was AUD$4523.32 (2657.20 euros and AUD$131.75 conversion fees). I spent days talking, emailing, pleading with Disney to fix the problem. First, they said that there was definitely only one booking and they could not find two charges. But then one of their staff said I should talk to their Finance Department.

So, I had to go through hours of calls and emails all over again to tell the new department my problem. Surprise, surprise - they didn't just find the two payments, but two different bookings. They said they would refund the first booking, but I said actually, they should honour the first booking and refund the second higher amount, and the conversion fees. Instead, they 'gave' me a 'commercial gratuity' of the difference between the two bookings (240 euros).

I guess they thought that was generous. But I had to spend another week of emails to get the actual refund for the booking itself. When the refund finally arrived, (with currency rates), it was less than my original charge. And, to rub salt into the wound, they have refused to pay for the credit card conversion fees.

I asked Disney to cover this too, but they won't. So after two weeks of arguing with them, I am out of pocket about $150 for charges that should never have been applied to my card. The staff I spoke to when I made the bookings were really nice. They said the situation wasn't my fault and that actually, I should be compensated for all the problems.

(I was actually quite anxious as my credit card bill was due with $4000+ more fees than I had expected). As a result, I was also trying to negotiate with my card company too, to not charge me until this all got sorted out. I did ask to speak to a Disney manager several times to try and help resolve these issues, but my situation was never escalated and I never even received an apology. Apart from the outstanding fees I still have, I did eventually tell Disney that they should offer a small gesture of compensation.

I suggested room upgrades and early check-in as a small token of this. It would have cost them nothing, but would have made up for the extra fees I still bear. They have refused both.

So, I am out of pocket, out of 'magic' and out of luck. For a company that 'builds dreams', they have certainly robbed me of mine - literally and figuratively.

Dear sirs ,

i am interested to visit Disneyland PARIS sometime next July (2025), The dates are not fixed yet .

I am interested to stay for 4 nights and 5 days .

Which is the cheapest , most economic hotel on site that i can book for a single room accomodation /one person?

What do you suggest ?

I am looking at your web site and i can not see any dates yet, probably because it is too early ... but i wish to book early .

The disappointment of our recent visit

I would like to express my disappointment as I have a large following on YouTube and think its only right you know the reasons for my total disappointment of your park in Paris france

We arrived at your in park hotel on the 22/01/2024 only to find the veranda and rooms were filthy.

The wait times were a lot worse than expected for time of year that itself is not a problem. What is is when paying for six premium fast track passes the price I seen was the bold 90 euro per day.

Only to find when paid for it came to £120 apparently due to it being a weekend and it was in the small print .

I have visited Florida numerous times and the park is immaculate and clean whilst being 4x the size of Florida. The same cannot be said about Paris rubbish empty bottles discarded all over the park no attempt has ever been made to clear it up in years as you can see the age in some of the rubbish.

I hate to complain but people need to know what to expect befor they arrive not after !

Complaint Of Early Closing Times

Hi, I am only coming to disneyland paris for one day on 20/12/23, i have waited my entire life for this and it was for my 19th birthday present and im incredibly disapointed that i have only just found out that the park is closing early at 6:30 on this day and im not happy. I understand that it needs to be done but because i am only visiting for this one day and i am coming all the way from the United Kingdom i just wondered if there was anything at all you could do , thank you

I took my granson to paris and had purchsed a two day ticket for 26 and 27 November. In the park there were no characters about the place and the castle was only being lit up for a very short time.

You then had to wait another hour to see it. Also no night precession of the characters.

Very disappointed with the ehole atmophere and feel the amount paud for the two day pass for the two of us was a waste of money. It woukd not encourage you to praise euro disney or return

Reservation/Wait List

Hi,

I tried booking the following restaurants on my app. At first is says it was too early to book.

Today 10/23 i checked and it shows not available.

Depends if my grandchildren go to Disney Paris again

My granddaughter has been given an autism diagnosis and was given a Disney card to indicate this in Paris. However, it was in fact not helpful at all.

My granddaughter was excited to be coming to Disney and wanted to meet with one or two of the characters. We thought that the card would give her priority in the queues.
She found it extremely difficult to be in Disney due to her specific autism difficulties. (We were there to support her sister who was in one of the shows). She excitedly managed to go up to one of the characters with her father, but when told she had to 'come back later - she was given a specific time - she became deflated and was unable to return.

Why couldnt she jump the queue? I had assumed that the card would allow her to do this.
We booked for for her to see another character who she wanted to meet, but the build up to the time created anxiety and she wasnt able to go.
I was so upset for her.

She gained nothing from the Disney experience at all, preferring to stay in the hotel.
Could there be more thought put into how to support children with autism at Disney? Surely jumping the queue for these children would not be too onerous.

Refund of battery charges

Disneyland Paris - Refund of battery charges

I am a visitor from India and I don't understand French. I had taken a battery to charge my phone around 3.50pm.

I had used a contactless VISA card No ending with XXXX to pay the advance of 30 for the battery. I used the battery for 2 hours and returned it around 5.45 for which I should have been charged for 4. However I did not get a refund on my card. Probably I had to swipe my card again while returning the battery.

But because I did not know french I did not understand the menu and failed to swipe my card while returning the battery. Request you to please refund the amount of 26 to my card.

Wrong date on tickets

Hi, I purchase 2 tickets for 1 park on June-25-2023 for Sep-05-2023. My receipt says Sep-05-2023, but when I printed the tickets it says 05/09/2023, I know in Europe the day goes first and then the month but when I scan my tickets to link it to the disney app it says that the tickets are not valid that they expired, please help.
